An Important Message to Our Community

Today, we recognize Juneteenth, the oldest nationally celebrated commemoration of the ending of slavery in the United States. Like many of you, we watched the ceremony honoring George Floyd’s life and reflected on its tragic and unjust end. The brutal killings of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, and so many countless other members of the Black community have affected all of us. Our organization is one that has historically lifted up and celebrated racial, cultural, and religious differences and we are devoted to removing barriers that prevent equitable access to a successful and meaningful life.

As an educational organization, we fully understand that learning never stops. We are listening to our Black community members and are committed to looking inwardly to identify areas where we can improve as an institution devoted to equity and education. The feedback we are receiving will inform our efforts to institute meaningful change.

We care deeply for our students and their families and we strive to see an end to systemic racism and social injustice. Creating a safe place for our students and removing the barriers between them and the education they deserve have always been and will continue to be our top priorities.

In solidarity,

Alan Salinger
